Our Approach
Every project involves a series of decisions that affect cost, risk, programme, and long-term value. Our role is to help clients navigate those decisions with confidence.
We act as independent advisers, working alongside clients and design teams to bring structure, commercial discipline, and practical insight to each stage of the process — from early feasibility through to delivery.
Refurbishment and adaptation projects, in particular, require a measured and flexible approach. Unknowns within existing buildings mean that clarity, communication, and early advice are essential to managing risk and maintaining control.

Our Role
We are not contractors and do not carry out construction work.
We do not take commission from builders or suppliers.
We do not provide architectural or engineering design services.
Our role is to act in the client’s interests as an independent adviser, providing clear advice and commercial oversight throughout the project lifecycle.

Kenny Telfer MRICS
Founder — Tantallon Projects
Kenny Telfer is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor (QS) and the Founder of Tantallon Projects, bringing extensive experience advising clients on refurbishment, redevelopment, and new-build projects. Beyond his consultancy work, Kenny serves as Vice Chair of the RICS Scotland Board, a strategic governance role supporting the leadership and direction of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in Scotland. In this capacity, he helps contribute to the advancement of professional standards, member engagement, and the development of the profession in the Scottish built environment context.
Kenny works closely with clients and professional teams to ensure projects are approached with rigour, clarity, and a strong understanding of risk — particularly where existing buildings and complex constraints are involved.
As the practice develops, Tantallon Projects will continue to grow in a considered way, bringing in additional expertise where it supports the quality of service provided to clients.
